Lily in the woods

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Moose
Title: Lily in the woods
Equipment: OM-1, Zuiko 50/1.4 ser. # >1,000,085, tripod.
Film : Kodak Hi Definition 400
Exposure: Longish @ probably f11
Technical information: Scanned with Canon FS4000, cropped and adjusted in PSCS3.
Subject information: Cala Lilies were everywhere, from formal gardens to roadside ditches.
Shooting in the woods can be frustrating, but when a spot of light is in the right place, it's magic.
Comments: When we went for a short vacation to Mendocino, CA. The TOPE shooting season was almost over.
So along with the now usual digital kit, I took along a classic OM kit.
Surprising how little space in a bag of camera stuff an OM-1 with 50/1.4 and hood reversed over the lens takes.
The Mendocino Botanic Gardens in spring provided the perfect place for this TOPE theme and the simple OM kit.

Comment left by: Fernando (no e-mail specified) On many occasions I planned to photograph 'cartuchos', which is a common species here, but their simple structure and prominent yellow stem resulted in that I couldn't figure out how to approach and get a better perspective of the flower. Yours taught me a new way to look at them.
