Post-Shower Bracken Fern Frond

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Graeme Pow
Title: Post-Shower Bracken Fern Frond
Gear used: E-1 + Zuiko Digital 14-54mm f2.8-3.5 + tripod
Diaphragm: f11
Shutter speed: 1/3 second
Media used: SanDisk Extreme III 2GB CompactFlash Card
Technical information: This image was shot at ISO 100 in natural light. I processed the resulting raw file in Olympus Studio and applied unsharp mask filters in Photoshop to improve local contrast and increase sharpness.
Subject information: I came across vast quantities of bracken while I was out walking through a wooded area in the Pentland Hills Regional Park, and singled this frond out (actually, it singled me out) as it was delightfully lit through a gap in the trees and speckled with rain.

Comment left by: Chuck Norcutt (no e-mail specified) Very nice. I'm jealous. I do often try to take a plain or common subject and produce something good. I rarely succeed as you have with this fern.
