Summer Days

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Charlie Geilfuss
Title: Summer Days
Gear: Olympus E-500, Zuiko 12-60 ED Zoom Lens
Exposure: Macro program mode.
Technical: Close focus with a small aperture to get a large enough depth of field to recognize "subjects" in background.
Info: On a late summer day I was photographing my nephews while they were fishing in a lake. I was looking for something a little different, so I chose a Macro setting and framed a dandelion in focus with the boys visible in the background.

Both the tack sharp foreground, and the blurred background are of importance in this shot, and both are rendered with exactly the right amount of sharpness/blur in order to make them stand out as they should.

Comment left by: Chris (no e-mail specified) Clever idea and composition.
