Croft-an-Righ

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Graeme Pow
Title: Croft-an-Righ
Gear used: E-1 + Zuiko Digital 50mm f2.0 + tripod (+ waterproof jacket + scarf + hat + gloves)
Diaphragm: f8
Shutter speed: 8 seconds
Media used: SanDisk Extreme III 2GB CompactFlash Card
Technical information: Struggling to meet this TOPE's deadline, I was relieved when Olaf announced an extension to the shooting period. However, the night I chose to go out shooting was cold with squally showers -- ideal for my E-1 and 50mm macro but less than pleasant for me, despite getting wrapped up like a Polar explorer. Shot at ISO 100 and in natural light, I chose a small aperture to increase the exposure time, creating those blurred branches and star points around the street lights.
Subject information: Croft-an-Righ ('Field of the King') is the name of the lane that you can see in the photo. It's on the edge of Holyrood Park, not far from where I live.
