Nan Afghani

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Mike and Marnie Gordon
Title: Nan Afghani
Gear used: OM-2 + Tam SP 35-105/2.8 + Vivitar 283 (auto yellow) and Lumiquest pocket bouncer.
Diaphragm: f4
Shutter speed: 1/60
Film used: Portra 160 NC 160.
Technical information: Used low contrast film for probable high contrast situation. Taken at dusk so fire would be prominent and we could have dinner. Oven details looked too dark so added flash.
Subject information: "Nan-e Afghani," is the national bread of Afghanistan. This traditional version is rectangular and served with 3 sauces: a yogurt/cucumber sauce; a cilantro based sauce (co-photg's favorite who also suggested trying a shot or two here at The Helmand) and a red pepper/vinegar sauce (my favorite).

Comment left by: Brian Swale (+) I'm amazed you got so much good detail at f/4. A great image; colours, composition, subject.

Comment left by: Wiliam Wagenaar (wiliam@orange.nl) I totally agree with both previous comments. You show the whole deal and it iommediately is clear how it works. Sure will be hot in there.
