Subject information: Waiting on friends at the Getty Museum, saw this little girl hopping across. Focussed on travertine flagstone and waited for her to come into the frame. Only got two shots, this was the more usable one.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) A very, very intriguing aspect of this picture is that the part with the reflection is substantially bigger than the actual girl herself; lovely effect! This is a daring composition which you don't see often, as most people would do it the other way round. Cool!

Comment left by: photographer (no e-mail specified) Thank you. I wanted the photo to be about about what she was doing, and felt including more of her real self would make it more about her.

But your comment also brings to mind something I've been told: anonymous commenters on my blog mentioned that it seems I like to use people as set pieces, and they are never revealed as people.
