Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Hehehe, from our e-mail discussion you know I guessed it. :)
From those of you who don't: check the hints the submitter gave about available light, location and the lens ;)

Comment left by: Hans van Veluwen (no e-mail specified) Oh la la?

Comment left by: Barry H (bhinderks@sprint.ca) Neat, Interesting and I can hardly wait to see if my guess is right.

Comment left by: Allie Scher (allieds@swbell.net) I think this is the work of CHip Stratton. I tell you why if I am right!

Comment left by: Chip Stratton (cstrat@tulsa.com) No Allie, not by me! I still don't have it figured out...

Comment left by: Lex (lexjenkins@hotmail.com) Hmm...considering the amount of distortion despite the lens used, it's gotta be a photo of some kind of mirror or similarly reflective object/surface. Reflection of pavement? Hmm...

Comment left by: Mickey Trageser (mickeytr@maxinter.net) Since we don't have the time of day, could it be the lens of a street lamp. Possibly lit and stopped down to show the surface texture. The shadowing suggests it may be lit from the outside, though. Still, the texture reminds me of the milky white surface of a street lamp globe or lens.

Comment left by: marc simon (marc.simon@advalvas.be) Good guess Mickey !
It's in fact the bottom of the lens of a street lamp.
The picture was taken at the end of the afternoon with a a rather strong low winter sun backlight...yes the light is in the back of the glass lens. I've sent another picture to Olafo who've guess in the begining. I will probably send it to Garth for "my page" on the gallery.
