Submitter's name: Mike and Marnie Gordon
Title: A carriage ride in the woods with with two Molly Mules.
Gear used: OM-4T + Tam 35-105 F2.8
Diaphragm: About F11
Shutter speed: 1/250
Film used: Kodak Portra 400 VC-2
Technical information: I anticipated a difficult time avoiding motion blur in a moving buggy. Adequate dof was a concern as well so I used the fastest film in the freezer and a shutter speed that gave a reasonable chance for a clear image with enough dof. This is the best of 3 shots. Because the scan was suboptimal, it was even more difficult to render the foliage nicely at web resolution. There was shadow/highlight adjustment in PS and some LCE for a more accurate representation of what was seen. Many thanks to Moose for his efforts with this as the scan was a real problem.
Subject information: This photo was taken during an annual estate to estate driving event where horses, ponies, mules and buggies were finely turned out. Some carriages were late models manufactured in the UK with independent suspensions and disk brakes, others were restored locally manufactured (Amesbury, MA) versions constructed in 1880's. Refreshments were provided.

Comment left by: Chris Barker (no e-mail specified) I like the subject, but there's a slighly Moose-like quality to the colour and contrast (:-)). It could do with straightening ...
