Berry harmony

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Olaf Greve
Title: Berry harmony
Gear used: Olympus E-500 + Zuiko 50/3.5 Macro + OM->E adapter + FL-50R flash
Aperture used: f16 (or thereabouts)
Shutter speed used: 1/80th seconds
Media used: Olympus XD card, set at ISO 160
Subject information: When walking through a forest for this TOPE assignment, I came across a variety of subjects, of which in the end I thought this to be the most interesting one. Shown are two different types of berries, that somehow got entangled. I liked the harmony between them and selected a composition in which the leafs of both types of shrubbery are also visible (which shows the context somewhat better than the shots in which the leafs were less visible).
Technical information: Nothing of interest, just made sure to keep the pretty heavy camera-flash set-up stable enough (handheld) when composing and setting the aperture. With the very shallow DOF in macro shots this can at times be somewhat challenging.
Digital trickery: Other than resizing, none.

Comment left by: Dave Bell (no e-mail specified) You have achieved an almost 3D effect. very striking.
