Comment left by: Barry Bean (bbbean@beancotton.com) Happy kid!

Comment left by: Joel Wilcox (jowilcox@blue.weeg.uiowa.edu) Well, that's a wonderful subject and photograph.

Comment left by: John Pendley (jpendley@mail.tds.net) I love children, especially smiling children, especially smiling grandchildren. I like the layered effect, with one limb in front of her: she's *in* that tree, and loving it. You captured all that beautifully. (If I could have submitted--i.e. knew how to upload to the net--it would have been a picture of my granddaughter's smile.)

Comment left by: Charles Packard (packardc@hiwaay.net) There is no better subject than a happy kid. Well done!

Comment left by: Steve Goss (steveg3@flash.net) A question for those more astute at this than I am: Would there be any way to cut down the lightness of the sky without changing the rest of the picture? To me, the sky looks a bit too blown out, but the rest of the picture is wonderful.

Comment left by: siddiq (siddim01@student.ucr.edu) Steve, i believe it can be done in Photoshop (or equivalent) Layers mode. like the way the two limbs on the right serve almost as "leading lines" back to the center of the frame.

Comment left by: Mike Butler (abutler@flash.net) I agree with Charles Packard, it is the reason I got back to using my Oly's. I have a question though. If the shot were taken with some fill flash, would that not also effectively darken the sky? If so what would be the recommended ratio?

Comment left by: John Wheeler (wheelej@one.net.au) There's just something about a little girl's smile. I liked the framing effect of the tree.

Comment left by: Jodi Jakeway (jjakeway@iserv.net) Kids and trees go together like pb&j ! Lovely little girl and great focus effect...I like it that the limbs in front and behind are slightly out of focus, bringing attention to and framing your subject.
