Chelsea-Lynn

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's Name: Bruce Hamm
Title: Chelsea-Lynn
Gear Used: Olympus OM-2n, Zuiko 100mm f2, Olympus T-20, Lumiquest ProMax Softbox, Hoya Softener A.
Diaphram: Unrecorded
Shutter Speed: Unrecorded
Film: Kodak Royal Gold 100
Technical Information: I had Chelsea lay down between a large window and a reflector. I set up a drop cloth beneath and behind her and shot away. I had a softbox on my T20, but wished I had a BG2 to get the flash away from the camera a bit. The combination of softbox and softener filter may have been overkill, yet I do like the soft dreamlike image.
Subject Information: Put this child in front of a camera, and she really 'Hamms' it up. (Excuse the pun).

In this case the soft effect works really well. Personally I'm a bit more of a sucker for the details the 100/2 gives, but in this picture I don't think the soft effect is overdone, it looks fine!

Comment left by: Barry Bean (bbbean@beancotton.com) Great lighting. I'd prefer it without the soft focus, but this looks like a wall hanger.

Comment left by: Chip Stratton (cstrat@tulsa.com) Great face! The feet poking out of the head are a minor distraction. I don't personally care for the soft focus either. Lighting looks spot on.

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jimcaldwell@iname.com) I like the picture - but have to agree with the previous comments - the feet bothered me a bit - and I'm not overly fond of soft filters - but I like the lighting and you've captured Chelsea well!
