Comment left by: Ian Nichols (i.a.nichols@bris.ac.uk) It's not just the camera that was hand-held, and the fact I can tell is a minor flaw since it makes the shot look slightly less natural. I'm a sucker for softened side lighting though, especially when it isolates a subject from its background like this.

Comment left by: John Pendley (jpendley@mail.tds.net) I'm fascinated by the contrast between the gesture and the expression on her face. The expression is so serious, although one can imagine it dissolving into a smile if the gesture is rightly interpreted. Is the gesture, "I want some," or is it "Can I come to you"? I've mentioned juxtaposition elsewhere in this collection; it's often what makes a picture work for me. Yes, it could stand some cropping, but I really like it.

Comment left by: John A. Lind (jlind@netusa.net) Good exposure of subject and good light direction to isolate her from the background and adult holding her. Unusual in that the subject is obviously interacting with you . . . which means it will with the viewer and makes this one "engaging." The viewer gets pulled into the image as a participant instead of remaining an observer.

I would crop tighter to rid the distracting piece of adult hand on the bottom, and then some on the right (the low key shoulder isn't distracting like the hand is) and top to balance the composition. You have a good photograph of Nina within this image.

Comment left by: John O'Regan (joreg@waitrose.com) Beautiful expression; wonderful exposure/lighting (what else with a '4Ti). I would, maybe, have kept the supporting hands out of frame, or included a bit more to give context.
Lovely.

Comment left by: Roy S. Talbot (roytalbot@hotmail.com) This photo took my attention because of its colors. The photo is so soft and natural. Really like the expression of the little girl. Keep up the great work and hope to see more of your photos.
