Submitter's name: Mike Lazzari
Title: Scout
Gear used: OM2sp 85/2
Diaphragm: f2 ?
Shutter speed: auto (about 1/60)
Film used: Fuji Superia 200
Technical information: Hand held, outdoors, low angle evening sun.
Subject information: Scout is our new dog. She was about 5 months old in the picture. The photo was taken on a sunny spring evening on one of our daily walks. I tried to get the steep hillside meadow as a non busy background. Being steep however it was a bit too close and more in focus than I would have wished.
More information: Transferring the image from negative to jpg is an ongoing learning experience. Just hooked up the HP Photo Scanner to a balky old computer which is giving me problems. Honest comments appreciated. watershed@interisland.net

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Good to see another dog picture in between all the cats; maybe she and T.C. Wackenbusch together could round up some of the cats in this gallery ? ;)))

Comment left by: Anonymous Visitor Is this a full frame picture? I'm amazed at the dept of field an 85 at f2 has...

Comment left by: Mike Lazzari (no e-mail specified) I'm not positive it was shot at f2, hence the ?. Perhaps closed one stop. I was opening as wide as possible and still hand hold. The meadow is very steep and closer than it looks.

And yes, I felt the dogs were unequally represented but this one better not be a cat chaser :)

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jimcaldwell@iname.com) I'm partial to this one because Scout looks like our Duke! We actually have two goldens and they are great dogs. I agree the picture would have been nicer with an out of focus background - but this is still a nice portrait of Scout!
