Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Just like for your sister: welcome to TOPE, the two of you are definitely the youngest submitters so far, and both of you made a great entry to the gallery, as this is one fine picture too!

Comment left by: Scott Gomez (scott@petroglyph.crestline.ca.us) Very good picture. I can feel the sunshine.

Comment left by: Mike Cormier (ronaldcormier@hotmail.com) Very sharp photo with perfect DOF. Nice contrast between the white and the dark green background. As with you're sister's work, I think I detect some guidance from a rather experienced OM user. Keep it up!

Comment left by: Ray Moth (ray_moth@yahoo.com) From the name, I can't begin to guess who your Dad might be! Anyway, I love the way you've focused on the subject and the sharpness of it. The lighting is very good and makes the picture more interesting than the usual "flat" lighting. I hope you keep up the good work. You already seem to be a good photographer and I look forward to seeing more of your pictures in the future. Congratulations (and please give my regards to your Dad, whoever he may be)!

Comment left by: John A. Lind (jlind@netusa1.net) I like the composition of this; two blossoms isolated. Placed diagonally in the frame makes them interesting and more natural looking. The critical focus on the flowers and the lighting direction is very good to bring out the texture of the petals. So is the exposure to keep the detail in them. It's very easy to lose the detail with anything that's this white in a photograph. Very good depth of field (DOF) to keep the background from being distracting. Having the background low key also (darker) makes the flowers stand out.

When you make close-up photographs like this, make several and experiment with the lens aperture setting. If you use f/8, try f/5.6 and see how that changes how the background looks.

Keep making photographs; well done!

Comment left by: Ken N. (no e-mail specified) Very good. The positioning of the flowers in the frame utilize not only the rule of thirds, but also the rule of fifths. Good focus, and F8 made a good starting point with this lens. The background is even and non-distracting. Good picture to frame.

Comment left by: Anonymous Visitor I have been doing this for more years than I care to think about it. The eyes of youth!!! I don't know how this could be improved. Wonderful shot.

Comment left by: Rebecca Scales (BeckyScales@aol.com) Hi Shannon,
Your picture is very beautiful. I love flowers, their beauty is held forever in photographs. You should keep this one always.I bet you got some other great shots on your walk, maybe we could exchange flower pictures.

Comment left by: Roy Talbot (rtalbot@laborready.com) When I first saw this picture I thought of two eyes looking back at me from nature. This is a very interesting photo of something so simple.
This reminds me of the old saying, “She loves me she loves me not”.

Comment left by: jaime naranjo (crazyfor80s@hotmail.com) Very Good picture!
Finally a person on the Net that uses the OLYMPUS OM-G. I share the same love for flowers.
Though I was the only one shooting with the trusty OM-G
