Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Another one of my favourites, lovely colours and composition!
It reminds me a lot of the 50/3.5 taken picture that appears in the 0173 (i.e. January, 1973) Olympus OM System Lens System brochure; great shot!

Comment left by: C.H.Ling (no e-mail specified) Looks nice, but the background look more attractive than the subject.

Comment left by: Mike Cormier (ronaldcormier@hotmail.com) Very nice tulip shot. I especially like the swirled texture of the background petals. Did you have to break off the front petals to position the lens?

Comment left by: Anonymous Visitor Great contrast with the red, cream and black.

Interesting and well done.

Thanks

Comment left by: Ray Moth (ray_moth@yahoo.com) Super composition and lighting. Some say that ring flash gives illumination that is too flat but that doesn't seem to be the case here! In fact, I like the 3-D effect. Some of it is probably due to your clever use of focus and DoF.

Comment left by: John A. Lind (jlind@netusa1.net) Yet another tulip. Olafo must be in heaven!

Unique and excellent point of view and perspective for a tulip. Composition well executed. The center seems to project itself out of the image and it has a very real feeling of depth. Very good DOF for an image shot with this much magnification and very well executed! Background is very interesting, almost a Van Gogh quality to the whorls.

Well done!

Comment left by: Simon E. (ruralwales@yahoo.com) Like others, I was very taken by the colour of the out of focus red area complementing the foreground. This is a terrific shot, mainly because those red swirls look like brushstrokes and give a lovely effect. Would look great framed on the wall.
