Technical information: Auto Exposure. Straightforward shot with polarizing film on the light box, crystal sitting on a sheet of glass about 10cm above light box. Polarizer on lens was rotated to get an interesting colour combination.
Subject information: Small Amethyst crystal.

Comment left by: John A. Lind (jlind@netusa1.net) Very well executed and very nice choice of backlighting which is essential to bring out the structure of the crystal. At 15 seconds you could easily have been into reciprocity failure of the film (I'd have to look it up), but it doesn't show in this. Yet another one I believe would easily work vertically also (turned right 90 degrees with the point up). Excellent job at keeping enough DOF with the level of magnification you apparently have (50/3.5 + 39mm extension). The extent you went to set this up (light box, tubes, tripod, etc.) paid off!
