Cerro Chato Frog

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Chip Stratton
Title: Cerro Chato Frog
Gear used: OM-4 + Zuiko 50mm/2 + T32 flash
Diaphragm: f8
Shutter speed: 1/60
Film used: Fuji Provia 100F
Technical information: T32 mounted on hot shoe, with flash tube tilted down a bit.
Subject information: This guy was just waiting for me to take his portrait, sitting on the (steep!) trail going down to the lake in the dormant crater of Costa Rica's Cerro Chato. I didn't have any way to tell him to wipe the plant material off his face, though. His actual length was about 3 cm.

Comment left by: andrew fildes (afildes@netlink.com.au) Great for a 'wild' shot (rather than a studio set-up). This looks like a serious wet knee shot. Conveys the camoflague (?) effect well.

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jamesfc@gte.net) Great shot! Too bad it wasn't a Golden Toad (now extinct?). I tried to shoot several poison arrow frogs while in Costa Rica without success. Tough subject and you did a fantastic job!!
