Lady Bugs!

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Jim Caldwell
Title: Lady Bugs!
Gear used: OM-4Ti + 80/3.5 macro + T32 flash + Bellows unit.
Diaphragm: f11
Shutter speed: 1/60
Film used: Kodakcolor Gold 100 ASA.
Technical information: This was a handheld shot taken on my Grapefruit tree! The bellows was rested on the branch - the flash had a filter on it to soften the light somewhat. I took about 10 exposures and this was one of the best in the lot!
Subject information: Lady bugs - er, uhm, - making more lady bugs!?? I was picking grapefruit and found this amorous pair and decided to try to document it my macro set up. I was rather pleased with the colors and the sharpness - I don't know the exact size ratio - but I would guess around 2:1 life size.

This is another of my strong favourites for this gallery, as it's one of those shots in which everything is right: nice lighting, nice composition, nice bokeh, and you captured a good moment (although the lady bugs might not like the privacy infringement ;) ).
Extremely well done, especially considering the fact this shot was handheld with a bellows!

Comment left by: Anonymous Visitor Lovely, just lovely.

Crisp, clear, concise - handheld too.

AND - you kept the "G" rating.
