Title: Monarch Caterpillar feasting on milk weed.
Gear Used: Om 2S and Tamron 60-300mm zoom, hand held.
Film Used: Kodak Royal Gold 400
Subject Information: I had worked on this TOPE using my OM 2S and a variety of other equipment on a bright yellow flower which was the residence of an almost translucent green spider. Got some nice pictures using the 50mm f3.5 macro, a 25mm extension tube, 2X Vivtar macro focusing telextender, 50mm f1.4 and some close up lenses. I was really trying to see what worked. All done with available light. What didn't work as one who is slightly techno-challenged was having prints made which needed to be scanned and then sent to the TOPE. In the midst of all this I purchased the Tamron zoom and my friend the spider must have become someones lunch. Not to worry, the Monarch butterfies arrived and deposited a bunch of caterpillars on the milk weed we had planted for them. In a day or two they ate the milk weed.

Comment left by: andrew fildes (afildes@netlink.com.au) Now that is nice - beautifully balanced for composition and colour.

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jamesfc@gte.net) Nice colors balanced by the caterpiller! I would also like to see a larger version of this picture. The subject stands out nicely against the background.

Comment left by: Bill Barber (nsurit@aol.com) I am attempting to figure out how to make this image, which came from a Kodak Picture CD, bigger. I think the file size is adequate, however something I'm doing keeps it at this small size. It does look nice in the larger size print.
