Submitter's name: Erwin Voogt
Title: BeeHaviour
Gear used: OM2n + 16 mm F3.5
Diaphragm: f/8 or f/11
Shutter speed: Too long to freeze the bee.
Film used: Provia 100F
Technical information: Chasing a bee is not very easy. Especially not when looking through the 16mm!
Subject information: From the OM Lens Handbook: with the 16 mm you can step into the insects' world!
This is one of my first experiments of "macro" photography with the 16 mm. I am not 100% satisfied yet, but as a first step I am happy with this picture. A Dutch magazine called Outdoor was happy with it too and they published the slide in their June 2001 issue.
For those who think I am cheating with this non-macro picture, have a look at my macro page.

I especially like the wicked perspective the 16/3.5 gives, it's just like we're looking over the bee's shoulders into a seemingly endless field of flowers, nice!

Comment left by: siddiq (no e-mail specified) wow you were able to get that close with a 16? amazing! must've been fun crawling around ;)

Comment left by: C.H.Ling (chling@glink.net.hk) Very nice shot, colourful! Interestingly the cloud has some 3-D look. I remember beside the OM lens handbook, the VisionAge seems to have similar close up with 16mm. I wanted to try such shooting method for a long time but haven't found any good subject/background combination yet.

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jamesfc@gte.net) Great picture! I don't have a 16mm, but I'm going to give this a try with my 19mm!!
