Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Andrew Fildes
Title: Graduation Foodfight
Film: Fuji Superia 400
Gear: OM2sp/Winder 2 on Auto, Zuiko 28mm f2, improvised plastic bag housing.
Details: Last day of high school is celebrated with a free for all 200 each side food fight. Closest I've come to combat photography - best shot ruined as a tomato sauce bomb hit me in the back of the head at the critical point.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Great shot!

The "warriors" nicely show off their "battle scars". I really like the spontaneousness of the warriors, it shows they had a great time, on what is a great day in everyone's life: graduation day.

Comment left by: Gary Edwards (no e-mail specified) Very dangerous assignment!

Comment left by: Chris Barker (imagopus@threeshoes.co.uk) A lively shot with great expressions.

Comment left by: Adam Bolt (boldbolty@iprimus.com.au) I would love to meet the chef... that looks like extremely yummy cake :-) Seriously, I love the expresions on the girls faces and it gave me an instant smile. Creating an emotional response is extremely hard in photography. You have suceeded very well. Congratulations

Comment left by: Donald MacDonald (Donald.MacDonald@care4free.net) This has to be my favourite. You don't get expressions like those by saying 'cheese'! It could be a simple snap, almost, but it says so much.

And yes, they're a pretty group...

Comment left by: John Palmer (no e-mail specified) Beautifully caught. The light is interesting - the girls look as if you have used a bit of fill flash, which presumably you haven't. The bright foreground contrasts nicely with that filthy looking sky top left.

Comment left by: Peter Leyssens (no e-mail specified) It looks like you could've used the 1000/f11 for that, instead of the much, much more dangerous 28/f2 ! The guy in the back looks like he's got something in store for you :-)

Comment left by: Sameer Sultan (no e-mail specified) I hope the camera fared better!! :)
Very 'natural' smiles...I miss school!
