Submitter's name: Martin Stange
Title: Omani Date Farmer
Gear used: Olympus Camedia Digital Camera C-2040 Zoom, AF Zoom 7.1-21.3mm
Diaphragm: Automatic
Shutter speed: Automatic
Film used: Digital Camera
Technical information: My first experiements with a digital camera on a trip through the Middle East.
Subject information: A date farmer carrying home his harvest in the small village of Nakkal in the Northwest of the Sultanate of Oman. The picture was taken on that fateful day Sept. 11, 2001. In the picture I like the man's shadow on the wall, and the contrast between tradition and 21st century (the big satelite dish in the background).

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Funny how the satelite dish had completely escaped my attention, but that shadow really makes this picture!

What a lovely shot!
