Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) A good example of how at times some of the aspects that are typical for human society are best characterised by the absence of its protagonists: the humans themselves.

Excellent idea.

Comment left by: Charles Packard (packardc@hiwaay.net) DFW empty..times have changed.
This photo speaks of our willingness to sacrifice some of our personal freedom for greater security.
Frankly I'm surprised you weren't stopped and your film consficated.
Was the flash diffused or bounced?

Comment left by: Gregg (no e-mail specified) This was easy to understand right now. I wonder if future generations of viewers will be able to understand the nuances of this? This also reminds me of the photo of Grand Central Station in NYC that was taken over a long enough period of time to show no people.

Comment left by: Bruce Hamm (bhamm@magma.ca) You've had a wonderful idea, and captured it well. In my mind, this picture speaks volumes. A fine TOPE shot...and a fine piece of photojournalism.

Comment left by: Andrew Fildes (afildes@netlink.com.au) Not quite square-on - to get this right you have to be absolutely symmetrical with the tiles and ceiling lines. I can sympathise because I attempted the same thing with a 21mm in a station recently and got the same problem - and I was inches out! I'm going back with a tripod, tape measure and spirit level! Nothing wrong with the idea, but.

Comment left by: Donald MacDonald (Donald.MacDonald@care4free.net) This shot has contemporary resonances, of course. But there is also the aspect whereby Human Society creates these great spaces for human activity... that are often very eerie places when there are no humans there.

Ever been in a stadium when there was no-one else there?

Comment left by: Mickey Trageser (no e-mail specified) Having seen how crowded this view normally would be, it's rather chilling. If it was any other time I'd guess everyone's at the Ames 3-day sale. If only it could have been....
