Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Nice telephoto landscape!
This shot reminds me a lot of some of the shots I took at Macchu Pichu like Macchu Pichu ref. 1 and Macchu Pichu ref. 2.

Comment left by: Adam Bolt (boldbolty@iprimus.com.au) This shot has got all the right ingredients, but for me it lacks just a little colour. I would have liked to have seen a little more DOF as well just to get the pine needles in focus at top right.

Comment left by: Stephen Scharf (scharfsj@ix.netcom.com) I like it...reminds me of the photo workshop I did in Yosemite in the late fall/winter. That is about as much color as you can get from Yosemite at that time of year....

Comment left by: Winsor (wincros@earthlink.net) Ah, my favorite place. Wonderful photograph. As many times as I have seen this spot you make it look fresh and dramatic.

Comment left by: Chris Barker (imagopus@threeshoes.co.uk) A gorgeous shot. This would look wonderful on a wall.

Comment left by: Wayne Harridge (no e-mail specified) Impressive scale

Comment left by: Ian Nichols (i.a.nichols@blueyonder.co.uk) I'm speechless.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) Very dramatic. The ONLY thing I'd change would be to lose the pine needles in the upper RH corner.

Comment left by: Gary Edwards (no e-mail specified) Nicely done. I would like it better without the branches in the upper right. Or, with more of the tree included for scale. You should go back and reshoot ;-)

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jamesfc@gte.net) I agree with the branches in the top right, but that is minor (clone them out with Photoshop!) - but what a wonderful picture! Beautiful scene.

Comment left by: Moose (dreammoose@attbi.com) Ansel Adams with tinted water? I love the tonality and the mist. Such a great picture that it's gotta lose those things in the upper corner. I just tried cropping top and bottom a little and the right up to most of the branch, then cloned out the remaining needles, but left the one very tall tree that meets them. Much tighter and cleaner looking, IMHO. Try it, you might like it!

Comment left by: Tiziana Ciaghi (ciaghitiziana@seldati.net) Magnificent!... A sort of dream :)
compliments

Comment left by: John A. Lind (no e-mail specified) Excellent drama created by the mountain rising out of the mist. The darker lower half has the waterfall to provide some nice interest and detail level. I agree with others about the pine needles. If more of the tree they're attached to were used for framing it slightly on the right, it would be better (here, they're just floating without evidence of some support). This was an excellent time of day for the mountain peak's lighting to celebrate its rugged detail in spite of the snow cover and an excellent exposure was used to capture this!

Comment left by: Mickey Trageser (no e-mail specified) It's hard to look at this image and not reflect on Ansel Adams' work. The tonality is right. You've got the angle and elevation to bring the falls and the mountain to the viewer in a personal way. I'd like not to have the branch upper right, and I seem to keep tilting my head left to view the image, don't know why. Considering the criticality of the exposure in this image, you aced it. The detail of the mountain face is perfect, and the balance of the fog and falls plays nicely. Wish I was there.

Comment left by: Jez Cunningham (no e-mail specified) Agree the pine needles have to go! Also I would have used a graduated grey to hold the sky back a bit and give some detail in the bottom right, but it's a stunning scene. Love Yosemite.
