Film used: None - the beauty of digital.
Technical information: This was a handheld shot, taken quickly, as I was on my way to work and late.
Subject information: This is a pond in my neighborhood. I stopped on the way to work, right at the end of the time period of TOPE 9, and snapped some quick shots. I thought this one came out nicely.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) nice neighborhood

Comment left by: Wayne Harridge (no e-mail specified) Nice symmetry (almost)

Comment left by: Roger Wesson (roger@worldtraveller.f9.co.uk) Nice - very tranquil. Shame it wasn't a nicer day for it, but when you're close to the end of the window you've got to get something! I wonder how it would look in black and white?

I find the few ripples in the otherwise mirror-like water a little bit distracting. Don't know if photographic ethics permit cloning things like that out.

Comment left by: John A. Lind (no e-mail specified) This is a good example of how strong symmetry allows discarding the "rule of thirds" (almost demands discarding it). An excellent view and composition. Since it's on your way to work, it should enable looking at this view under different lighting, weather and seasonal conditions to see how the entire mood changes. You have the opportunity to make several photographs of the same location, each with a different mood.

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jamesfc@gte.net) Very nice! I believe I would like to see the clump of reflected trees a bit more to the left but I do like the shot!

Comment left by: Mike Lazzari (no e-mail specified) No debating whether or not this is a landscape! Nice colors and composition. I too would have moved the trees a little to the left and brought more of the grass into the foreground.
