Remnant

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Richard Man
Title: Remnant
Gear used: OM-4Ti + 35/2
Film used: Ektachrome 200 ASA.
Technical information: Scanned in using LS-4000 and modified using Photoshop 6 "Curves" to bring out the details below the water. Perhaps it would benefit from a Polarizer to cut down the reflection on the lower left, but I think it also creates an interesting "shadow" of what it once was.
Subject information: Shooting around the Mirror Lake / Meadow, I was drawn to the water worn patterns of the dead tree root.

Comment left by: Mike Lazzari (no e-mail specified) Nice shot. I think the reflection adds to the complexity. You see both the reflexion of the tree _and_ the leaves under water. I would crop more above the rock and concentrate on the stump, pine needles, etc.

I love this shot. The combination of water, reflections, under water details, interesting textures and patterns, and framing make this interesting on several levels. A wall hanger.

Comment left by: Chuck Norcutt (chucknorcutt@attbi.com) I like it just the way it is.
